Un évêque chez les Indiens Nommé depuis peu évêque de Guyane, Emmanuel Laffont part vers l’ouest de la Guyane sur le fleuve Maroni, à la rencontre des habitants de ces régions perdues. Son voyage commence par Maripasoula, la dernière ville avant la foret, mélant des Noirs descendants des esclaves, des clandestins Brésiliens et des Blancs de la métropole . Rencontre avec les catholiques, puis départ vers les villages des bords du Maroni, où vivent isolés les Wayanas, les Indiens de la fôret.
